El matrimonio es la única institución en la sociedad que une a un hombre y a una mujer en un compromiso de por vida. Proporciona la base para la concepción y la crianza de los hijos, y hace posible el desarrollo estable de la familia humana. La decisión que hoy tomó la Suprema Corte de Justicia hiere profundamente el tejido de la sociedad humana al permitir legalmente la redefinición radical del matrimonio. Es alarmante que cualquier institución del gobierno pueda reclamar el poder de cambiar la definición de una realidad humana tan básica. La Iglesia, sin malicia hacia nadie, y en fidelidad a la verdad sobre la vida humana, debe permanecer fiel y enseñar la verdad sobre el matrimonio. Nuestro servicio a la verdad es sobre todo lo más urgente en este momento.

Marriage is the only institution in human society that unites a man and a woman together in a lifelong commitment. It provides the basis for the conceiving and raising of children. And it makes possible the stable development of the human family. Today's Supreme Court decision deeply wounds the fabric of human society by permitting in law the radical redefinition of marriage. It is alarming that any government institution can claim the power to change the definition of such a basic human reality. The Church, with malice towards none, and in fidelity to the truth about human life, must remain faithful to, and teach the truth about marriage. Our service to the truth is all the more urgent at this time.

As parents, we find that as a single united family under God, we receive strikes from all aspects of today times and culture. It is very difficult raising a family with constant attacks made upon our religious thoughts and views. As for me and my house, all under it will serve God but all others around attack us for not conforming to today's views of abortion, sexual orientation, and progressive behaviors. A "family" needs much prayer to succeed in raising God's children; although, I feel at peace knowing we are trying our very best.
